Start with the problem, not the technology

A list of tools is not a roadmap. First describe the decision, task or friction to improve, the people affected and the current situation.

This framing makes it possible to compare AI with conventional automation, process improvement or better information flow.

Compare four dimensions

Expected value is not enough. Examine business usefulness, technical feasibility, data readiness and risk together.

  • Observable impact on time, cost, quality or decisions
  • Frequency and number of affected users
  • Access to the necessary data, systems and skills
  • Consequences of error and the ability to recover through human action

Design a test that prepares operation

A prototype should test a precise hypothesis and reveal answer quality, adoption, actual cost, failure cases and supervision effort.

Assign an owner, define stopping criteria and decide which actions remain subject to human approval before the test begins.
